Franchisee Spotlight on Innovative Air Solutions

The latest issue of the Dr. Energy Saver network newsletter put a spotlight on Innovative Air Solutions— Dr. Energy Saver Westchester. The newsletter goes out to all Dr. Energy Saver franchisees throughout the country every month and includes information on products, services, techniques, sales tips, and much more. Each issue spotlights a different franchisee in the network.

Here is an excerpt from the spotlight on Innovative Air Solutions:

Innovative Air is a progressive HVAC company owned and operated by two brothers: Michael and Matthew Carlo. Since 2000, they have applied the combination of their own retail business background and their family’s 39 years in the HVAC trade, to create a different kind of heating and cooling business. One that solves problems for homeowners in a way that would make them appear truly “innovative” to their customers.

In 2005 they decided to expand their business beyond HVAC and embrace whole-house performance services. After securing their BPI certification, they began working with groups like National Comfort Institute, and looked into business models from ZeroDraft, Comfort Institute, AeroSeal, Honeywell and others. But Michael says, “None of them had put together a complete plan or offered the level of training and support that we knew we needed to really succeed.” So they kept looking.

In late August they saw a Larry Janesky interview in the HVACR Business magazine.

“We didn’t even know about Larry or Dr. Energy Saver until we saw that article. When we saw they were just an hour up the road, and then did some research about Larry’s other companies, we knew we were on to something very important,” Michael said. “It was really an easy decision for us. When we compared the training, people, track record, other dealers in the group, employees at Dr. Energy Saver, the tools, resources, attitudes and the completeness of the plan to everything else we looked at, we jumped. It is one of the fastest, easiest, and definitely the smartest decision my brother and I have made since we started our business.”
